Honda Aircraft announces that it has received a type certification for the HondaJet Elite business jet from Transport Canada. The first delivery to a Canadian customer is scheduled for early next week. Currently, the HondaJet Elite has received FAA, EASA approvals from the aviation authorities of Mexico, Brazil, India, Japan. In Canada, the manufacturer's dealer is Skyservice Business Aviation.

Introduced last May, the Elite offers a 200 pound increase in payload and a range increase of up to 1,437 nautical miles, a 17% increase over the original HondaJet.

“Following the positive reaction to the HondaJet in Canada, we are delighted that the HondaJet Elite has now also received type certification in the country,” said Michimasa Fujino, President and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Aircraft. “As the popularity of the HondaJet Elite grows around the world, we are proud of our strong relationships with aviation authorities around the world, including Transport Canada.”

According to Honda Aircraft, 118 HondaJet aircraft are currently in operation in the world. The operational reliability indicator is 99.7%.

Announced at EBACE 2018 in May, the HondaJet Elite features extended range and a newly developed noise-dampening air intake that significantly reduces engine frequency noise while improving cabin noise. In addition, the new aircraft's advanced avionics system includes additional performance management features for optimal flight planning, as well as automatic stabilization and protection features to enhance flight safety.
