Experts-auditors of the FSUE TsAGI Certification Center (SC) (part of the N.E. Zhukovsky Research Center) took part in the validation of the Type Certificate of the aircraft business jet Honda HA-420 (Japanese jet twin-engine aircraft, commercial name – HondaJet). The Russian Aircraft Certificate was issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia).
As part of the work on the validation of the Type Certificate issued by foreign aviation authorities, the main attention is paid to checking those points of the airworthiness standards for which there are differences between domestic and foreign requirements.
In this project, TsAGI specialists were responsible for checking the aircraft design for compliance with the requirements of Part 23 of the Aviation Regulations “Airworthiness Standards for Civil Light Aircraft” (AP-23) in terms of materials used, static strength, resource and service life.
“As a rule, the validation procedure consists of two stages. At the first stage, an acquaintance with the typical design takes place and a list of technical issues for the project is drawn up. Then, on the basis of the aircraft developer, a series of technical meetings is held, based on the results of which a team of experts – auditors establish the compliance of the design with the requirements of Russian airworthiness standards, – said the acting director. In addition to the FSUE TsAGI SC, the Aviation Equipment Certification Office of the Federal Air Transport Agency and the Aviation Register of the Russian Federation, specialists from the Airworthiness SC and LII-TsS were involved in the validation work.
